Several airlines in the UAE, including Emirates, Flydubai, and Etihad, have revised their entry and transit regulations for Iranian nationals on their official platforms. Currently, holders of Iranian passports are not permitted to enter or transit through the UAE.

No specific reasons were provided on the airlines' websites. However, it was noted that individuals holding a Golden Visa are exempt from these restrictions.

Emirates further specified additional exemptions for certain categories of Iranian nationals allowed to enter and transit. These include:

  • Spouses of UAE nationals

  • Children of female UAE nationals

  • Athletes, bank executives, doctors, families, engineers, investors, senior professionals, or traders

Khaleej Times has contacted authorities to verify any modifications to the entry and exit regulations for Iranian nationals.

These updates coincide with the ongoing conflict involving the US, Israel, and Iran, which began on February 28. Gulf nations, including the UAE, have been subjected to attacks from Iran for over a month, resulting in casualties and damage to energy infrastructures.

As of Wednesday, the UAE has reported 12 fatalities and 190 injuries since the conflict's onset. The nation continues to respond to missile and drone threats from Iran.

Air travel to and from the UAE has faced restrictions over the past month, although full-service and budget airlines are gradually expanding their flight networks.

Despite operating on reduced schedules due to the ongoing regional conflict and airspace limitations, Emirates, Etihad Airways, Flydubai, and Air Arabia continue to serve key destinations across more than 250 cities.
