A 30-year-old fugitive was taken into custody on Monday afternoon (March 30) following a high-speed chase around Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).

Airport police chief Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Ravi Muthusamy reported that the incident occurred at approximately 4:30 PM when security personnel from a mobile patrol vehicle were conducting crime prevention routines.

ACP Ravi stated that the suspect refused to stop for a security check.

"The driver attempted to escape towards the KLIA terminal on level 3, colliding with five public vehicles before being apprehended," he noted.

Resembling an action sequence from the video game Grand Theft Auto, videos shared on social media depict a red Honda Civic maneuvering aggressively between two lanes.

The footage shows the car scraping against the side of a dark-colored multi-purpose vehicle before crashing into the back of a white delivery van.

However, the Honda Civic driver did not halt. Instead, he pushed past the van and continued driving despite significant front-end damage.

At least three additional vehicles were impacted as the driver persisted in his attempt to evade the pursuing police car.

Subsequent dashcam footage reveals the Honda Civic halted beside a road barrier, where police officers subdued the suspect on the ground.

According to ACP Ravi, the male driver is wanted for a drug-related offense and has a prior record of 31 criminal charges.

Investigations are ongoing, with alleged offenses including obstructing a public servant, committing mischief, and various drug and traffic violations.
